KIR-ÇED Kırşehir Youth Culture, Art, and Environment Protection Center is an<br />
independent, non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit youth<br />
organization. It was formed in 1997 named KIR-ÇED as non-formal group of<br />
enthusiasts, young people and young intellectuals, part of them as freelanced<br />
artists, musicians, actors, organizers and people with advanced ideas. KIR-ÇED is<br />
an apolitical, independent, nonprofit organization, with educational aims that<br />
coordinates youngster willing to cooperate in the voluntary sector.<br />
The goal of the organization is to educate, publicly represent and enforce capacities of the repository of the democratic<br />
social changes using the methodology of the social education and youth work. That way it enforces cooperation between<br />
sectors, EU integrations and creation of the public politics with the goal of improvement of the social situation of the youth<br />
through festivals, camps, youth club. It is open for all people of the good will regardless of the national, religious, sexual or<br />
any other ideological orientation. Organization includes more than 60 members, mostly students <strong>from</strong> universities and<br />
students <strong>from</strong> high schools, youth workers and volunteers, who are experienced in participating and organizing different<br />
programs and projects.

The overall aim of our course is to improve the quality of life and the environment<br />
through enhancing the quality of adult learning for sustainable development across<br />
Europe.<br />
Training Objectives<br />
• enhance understanding of sustainability and<br />
sustainable development and the relevance to a<br />
range of adult education programs<br />
• develop skills to teach "education for sustainable<br />
development" (ESD) within adult education courses<br />
using a variety of innovative approaches to<br />
learning,<br />
• build capacity to enable adult learners to relate<br />
sustainable development to their work and<br />
personal lives,<br />
• provide a support network and resources for<br />
continuous professional development related to<br />
education for sustainability<br />
• encourage the promotion of sustainable<br />
development practices within adult education<br />

IMPLEMENTATION<br />
Each module will be approached through a series of<br />
individual and group activities supported by<br />
presentations.<br />
The modules will give participants the opportunity to<br />
examine key themes in sustainability and each will<br />
encourage an evaluation of current practices in adult<br />
education and make suggestions for improvements and<br />
changes. The workshop sessions will be supported by<br />
opportunities for formal and informal presentations of<br />
participants experience together with case studies <strong>from</strong><br />
Turkey and the UK. Evenings will be spent in informal<br />
discussion, watching sustainable development related<br />
media and cultural activities.
