‘Inconvenient’ is the expression
louded by the students regarding the matric
card system. Plenty of unreasonable excuses
are given just to avoid the use of matric card.
This disatisfaction is becoming a dissent
among UNIMAS’s students. Matric card is
an identification card that has to be worn by
every student in UNIMAS as a part of
discipline and security.
This card is very important to every
student in order to access of the facilities in the
university such as in the library (CAIS). But
somehow, because of the attitude of some
students, they tend to overlook the important
role of this matric card.
Most students feel awkward when wearing their matric cards
around their neck. They find wearing it is uncomfortable and too rigid.
Wearing a suspended matric card around their neck seems to be
burdensome. The prevailing mentality among the UNIMAS students is that
the card should be worn only when needed (but not at all times). No matter
what measures are imposed on the students to comply wearing the rule of
matric card all the times in the campus, it appears ineffective.
The students show high compliance wearing the
tag when entering CAIS and lecture halls. Apart
from that, the students neglect wearing the tag. To
the students, they can simply memorise their
matric card number. This attitude becomes a trend
among the students. There seemed to be no
effective solution to this problem.
Be open-minded!
WEAR YOUR MATRIC CARD and that is just a
simple thing to do as a truly
UNIMAS-ian!
