So, we can considered it as late because the final year students are force to
do the two big things, learning SPSS in short time and struggling to finish
their FYP. Actually, to solve this problem, some solutions are required to
address this crucial problem that must be collected earlier. First, SPSS
must be introduced to the first year students so that they get to learn and
know about SPSS. In fact, the subject Statistics taught in all faculties in
UNIMAS requires the usage of SPSS. Nevertheless, the problem cropped
up when it comes to group assignments because some students are making
lame excuses of their ignorance in SPSS and hands off, doing nothing. In
other word, they are free riders that refuse to do their part with an excuse
of lack of expertise in this field. As a consequence, the seniors should act
as mentors to guide their juniors how to operate the software. However, not
all seniors are able to give a lending hand as they are also burdened with
their assignments and projects. To conclude, the best solution is to learn
and master it as one saying ‘If there is a will, there is a way’.
