Why join the Cloverbud Program?
The Douglas County 4-H Cloverbud Program can
help youngsters develop critical life skills, the
basic premise of all 4-H youth programming.
Cloverbud activities and projects are based on
sound child development principles and are developed
in conjunction with Colorado State University
Extension.
In 4-H Cloverbuds, your child will:
• Develop self understanding
and confidence
in a relaxed
setting.
• Achieve success in
learning and feel a
positive sense of accomplishment.
• Learn how to get
along with others and communicate in positive
ways.
• Learn how to share, work together, compromise,
and resolve conflict.
• Make new friends.

County 4-H Cloverbud Program, please call the

If you have children ages eight to eighteen, they can
join regular 4-H. For more information on all that

What is the 4-H Cloverbud Program? Cloverbud Activities
The 4-H Cloverbud Program is a fun hands-on
educational program specially designed for
kids ages five through seven.
4-H Cloverbud members participate in learning
activities that promote self confidence,
healthy lifestyles, social skills, and just plain
having fun.

“I loved being a Cloverbud and getting to do
projects like cake decorating and leathercraft
with other Cloverbuds. I got to do things like
the big kids in 4-H. My favorite was Cloverbud
Camp because we got to do really fun crafts
and games!”

Douglas County 4-H hosts several Cloverbud activities
each year.
• Cloverbud Camp- scheduled in June, this event
allows youngsters to engage in hands-on activities
while interacting with others. A past theme
was Cowboy Camp. Kids got to practice roping,
branding, herding “cattle”, and other fun stuff
while learning about Colorado’s western heritage.
Children leave with goodies and a smile!
• Cloverbud Fun Night - A December event, this
evening is designed for kids to do their own projects
while learning about 4-H. Older 4-H kids
come in and show projects like cake decorating
and leather working and often bring in small animals
for kids to learn about.
• Cloverbud Primary Fair - held the first Saturday
of the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, Cloverbuds
enjoy their own fair activities. Past themes
include Pirate Ship Adventure, Hawaiian Luau, and
the Olympics.
