This is the single telephone for poison emergencies in the United<br />

<strong>State</strong>s. It is supported by a network of 65 poison centers around the<br />

country. When you call, you will be automatically connected to the<br />

poison center for your area according to the area code and exchange<br />

of the phone number you are calling from.<br />

Call this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to talk to a poison<br />

expert. Call right away if you have a poison emergency. Also, call if<br />

you have questions about a poison or about poison prevention.<br />

If you call from a cell phone, you will reach a poison center. Depending<br />

on your cell phone carrier, you might reach the poison center<br />

in the area you are calling from or in the “home” area of your cell<br />

phone. Either center can help you and will arrange for you to have<br />

local assistance at your current location.<br />

Legal Responsibilities for Pesticide Use<br />

Pesticides suggested for use in this publication are registered by<br />

the Environmental Protection Agency, Pesticides Regulation Division<br />

and are cleared for use as indicated on the individual labels. The legal<br />

limitations in the use of these pesticides should be strictly observed<br />

to prevent excessive residues in or on harvested fruit. Each grower<br />

in responsible for the residues on fruit from his/her orchard and<br />

should follow labels carefully and observe cut off dates and rates<br />

of application. Some of the pesticides listed may be on the EPA<br />

restricted use list.<br />
