Chester Kidder 2005 Red Wine: Good deep ruby-red. Surprisingly expressive on the nose in light of the 

recent bottling, offering cassis, sappy spices, espresso, black pepper and wisteria. Dense, sweet and spicy, 

displaying an uncanny combination of fleshiness and vibrancy. Appears to gain in breadth and thickness

Go Slowly...in wine and in life 

These are definately wines to be savored... The 2006 Syrah is a monster of a syrah! Vine age and vintage 

have created this big, dark, ripe and rich wine. On the nose; blueberry, plum, black cherry, and dark fruits 

dominate with a hint minerality on the finish. A balanced beauty with beautiful fruit, structure and acidity. 

This wine has the overall beautiful balance and depth to go the distance. The 2007 Syrah starts out with a 

nice smooth mouthfeel with most of the fruit and flavor on the finish which was exceptionally long. After 

about an hour or so the front and mid palate really filled up with mocha and deep dark fruit. These

spices. Big, powerful, and robust, it coats the palate with tar, licorice, stewed black cherries, and cassis 

liqueur yet retains an awe-inspiring juiciness and verve. 

2004 Cabernet - 95 Jay Miller, Wine Advocate A complex nose of smoke, vanilla, pencil lead, olives, 

licorice, black currants, and blackberry which soars from the glass. Sweet and ripe on the palate, with layers 

of dark fruit flavors, the wine’s oak, tannin, and acidity are beautifully integrated. The finish lasts for 50+ 

seconds. 

2005 Cabernet - Classic Walla Walley Valley Cabernet Sauvignon elements of cassis, pine tar and cedar, 

crushed red and black fruits, cranberries, and bright, high-tone floral notes. The palate is lush and fat yet

elegant, balanced by wonderful acidity, and finishes with perfectly ripe tannin that carries the wine across 

the palate. 

2004 Merlot - Nose consists of bright floral aromatics, elderberry, red and black crème fruits and spicy 

yet subdued notes of balsam, pencil shavings, and pine. The palate is broad and fat with a soft, long, yet 

lively finish that brings back merlot lovers to this wine again and again. 

2005 Merlot - A splendid bouquet of pain grille, spice box, cassis, and black currants. This is followed by 

a plush wine with layered flavors, superb balance, and terrific length. 

2006 Merlot - A nose of lavender and violet florals gives way to candied bing cherry, subtle toasty oak 

notes, and a wine just dripping with gobs of ripe fruit. The wine coats the palate with it's glycerin and sweet 

fruit. This wine has a purity of fruit and length that even the finest estates of Pomerol and St. Emilion 

would envy.

Enjoy this three liter of pure Pinot noir perfection. All of St. Innocent's Pinot noirs are produced in a 

style to first reveal the nuances of their terroir. Working in the vineyard with individual growers, we fine 

tune the viticultural practices with the goal of achieving a balance between the canopy and fruit. Most of the 

vineyards are grown in a sustainable way and qualify for LIVE certification. Target yields are between 2 and 

2.7 tons/acre (30-42 HL/HA). Picking time is determined by the mouth of the winemaker. This beautiful

sources and cellar techniques to focus on the core of the blend, Merlot’s richness and density, have yielded 

expected results. Filled with deep black cherry, roasted chocolate and spice, the flavor is succulent, balanced 

and long finished. 

2005 Cayuse Bionic Frog: 99 Points Wine Advocate: The kinkiest of the Syrahs is the 2005 Bionic Frog 

which was made with 25% stems. It was aged in Dominique Laurent barrels, 30% new. Purple/blackcolored, 

it has a sexy perfume of earth notes, mineral, spice box, and blueberry. Layered, opulent, and 

super-rich, the finish just goes on and on. 

2005 Basel Cellars Merriment: It is aromatic and ripe with a rich and dense mouthfeel. Scents and flavors 

of cherries, plums, cedar and espresso. It finishes with long, silky tannins. This is a wine that will reward 

you for the next 8 to 10 years.

The 2005 'Ash Hollow Vineyard' Syrah has complexity that is overwhelmingly wonderful, while the length 

of the finish makes you believe that it has actually taken up residence. Pair this beauty with smoked ham 

and white bean soup with fresh thyme, or a smoky chipotle cheddar cheese....YUM!! Only Ella Fitzgerald 

can match the high toned blackberry and loganberry notes belted from the silky depths of this bright, 

intensely shimmering 2005 'Pepper Bridge Vineyard' Malbec. Jazzed with a quarter grind of peppercorn

1 - 1996 Heitz Cellar Martha's Vineyard Cabernet: 

2 - 1999 Leonetti Cellar Merlot: Bright ruby-red. Complex aromas of raspberry, cranberry, coffee, 

chocolate and pepper. Then lush and pliant in the mouth, but kept firm by edgy, slightly tart acidity. Opens 

out nicely on the back end without losing its shape. Perhaps a bit disjointed today, but built to age.

1 - 1998 Spottswood Napa Valley Cabernet: More earth tones, but an intriguing nose with some greenedged 

aromas intermingled with leather, earth, graham cracker, raspberry cordial, apricot roll, hay, 

tobacco, mushroom, and minerals. Interesting and dynamic, yet a bit edgy with raw tannins and somewhat 

tart fruit. Good structure. An accurate, compelling wine.

that yields so much of the state’s best fruit. What’s different this year? The very warm growing season gifted

Fit for a King's Tasting- 90's Vertical Lot 

6 Bottles -Vertical lot: 1993 - 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Even with a slight green bean note in the nose, 

this wine has proven to be a solid performer over time and has developed a seamless mix of ripe cherries 

and vanillin oak in both nose and flavor. Its supple, rounded entry and smooth passage across the palate 

signal a wine that is nearing its peak stage of development, but there are no signs of ''give up'' here and

another five years of rewarding drinking is entirely likely. '94 Cabernet: Bright red-ruby color. Black 

cherry, chocolate, minerals and tarry, smoky oak on the nose. Supple, oaky and pliant, with ripe, 

moderately deep berry flavors complicated by notes of leather and tobacco. The tannins are slightly dry but 

the wine is already quite approachable. '95 Cabernet: Full ruby-red. Crushed blackberry, bitter cherry, 

dark chocolate, licorice and oak spice on the nose. Bright, intensely flavored and juicy, with penetrating 

fruit and hints of leather and fresh herbs. But rather small in scale, finishing with decent length and a faint 

greenness. '96 Cabernet: Good deep red-ruby. Ripe aromas of cherry, dark chocolate, tar and mint. Less 

dense than the '97 but shows the baby fat of the vintage. But doesn't have quite as much flavor development 

as the '97. Finishes with good length and slightly green tannins. '97 Cabernet: Ruby-red, with a hint of 

development at the rim. Classic California cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, tar and menthol. Began 

slightly lean and herbaceous but seemed to put on weight and gain in texture as it opened in the glass. Firm 

acids are a bit tart but not quite spiky. Finishes firmly tannic, with a faint greenness and a note of coconutty 

sweet oak. '98 Cabernet: Dark Ruby to garnet color and a complex nose of blackbery jam, chocolate, 

roasted coffee, sandalwood and nutmeg. It has a full body and a rich elegant finish with nicely integrated 

tannins. It will continue to get smoother over the next months and will improve for 15-20 years.
