A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
“I am a Lincoln Railsplitter and a citizen of Splitter Nation!”
These words erupted from my mouth recently and received a
loud round of applause from an audience of Superintendents
from across the state. I had just finished presenting the good
news about Lincoln Consolidated Schools.
Would you like to hear the good news, too? There is much to
celebrate this spring at LCS.
Most of you know our history. You know how we began with
an educator’s dream of reaching and teaching rural students.
You know how that dream united thirteen independent school
communities into one consolidated school district. We take
pride in our pioneering spirit, of being a district of firsts, of being
a premier learning community.
The reorganization of our elementary schools and programs enabled us to create a Spanish Immersion
Kindergarten and First Grade classroom. We are encouraged by the success of the program and are preparing to
expand our offering to include second grade.
A new group has formed to work on opportunities for improved communications and relationships across our
school community. This PR and Marketing Task Force is comprised of parents, faculty, and Board of Education
members. It is an action oriented group and has already launched a variety of initiatives such as our Parent
Information Nights.
We have embarked on an ambitious quest to increase student achievement by continuing to improve what
happens each and every day in our classrooms. Our faculty meets regularly in groups to examine the data
related to teaching and learning. These groups are called data teams. They ask very challenging questions
and determine answers that improve instruction. This is truly exciting work which will lead to positive results for
students.
I am energized by the professionalism of our staff, by the excitement for learning that I witness daily in our
students, and by the sense of community I feel when I declare, “I am a Lincoln Railsplitter and a citizen of Splitter
Nation!”
Calling System
SIGN UP!
Last year Lincoln Schools implemented an automated calling
system to improve parent/school communications. With the
Edulink Intouch Parent Notification system you quickly and
efficiently receive important school information directly to your
family via phone, email, or text message.
As part of the fall registration process you received a letter with
information on how to register your own contact information
online. If you need a new letter, contact your school office. You
will be able to set your preferences on how you would like to
receive messages from Lincoln Schools.
Uses of this system include snow day notifications, student
attendance, and school events. We are very excited to bring this
communication tool to you!
