100. SATOS SANDING-HEAD TO TURKEY
In April 2008, Steinemann Technology will deliver the hundredth SATOS
sanding-head to Turkey.
We are proud to supply the Starwood Orman Ürünleri Sanayi A. S. with the new
sanding machine SATOS 22 KK-NTNTNT (7 heads) for their thinboard MDF-line in the
plant Inegöl.
With the latest SATOS machine, Starwood decided already for the third time for a
SATOS resp. altogether the fourth time in favour of a Steinemann sanding machine.

Starwood was found in 1990 and since then developed itself from a small family
company to one of the largest producers of fibreboard in Turkey.
Starwood attaches great importance to newest technologies, modern structures and a

Like Mehmet Yildiz, owner of Starwood, Inegöl, also his two brothers Fehmi Yildiz,
owner of Yildiz Entegre, Arslanbey-Kocaeli, and Ahmet Yildiz, owner of Yildiz Sunta
MDF, Uzunciftlik-Izmit, are successful in the production of MDF-panels and particle
boards: The first 10-head SATOS in Turkey was installed in 2002 at Yildiz Entegre.

And it was the company Yildiz Sunta MDF which first installed a 12-head SATOS and
which at the moment disposes of the largest sanding machine in Turkey,.

Since the year 2000 we could also deliver SATOS wide belt sanding machines to the
companies Camsan Agaç Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. and Kastamonu Entegre Agac Sanayi
Ve Ticaret A.S.
With the delivery of the latest SATOS machine to Starwood, Steinemann
Technology AG will have installed the hundredth sanding head of its SATOSseries
in Turkey.
The Turkish panel industry experienced a true booming in the past years. From 2002 to
2006, more than 10 new MDF/HDF- and particle board plants were opened, and further
are planned. Altogether, Turkey disposes of an installed total capacity for fiber board of
approx. 2.4 million of m3 and approx. 3.9 Million of m3 for particle board. Turkey is
therewith behind Germany already the second largest manufacturer of MDF-panels in
Europe (Sources: EUWID Holz special, April 2005, S. 50 ff.; data of the European
Panel Federation [EPF]).
More than two-thirds of all Steinemann sanders delivered to Turkey were SATOSmachines.
Since its launch in the year 2000, the SATOS writes a true success story:
Until now, more than 700 SATOS sanding heads were installed all over the world. They
were installed in more than 80 MDF and particle board lines in 6 to 12-head configurations.
The SATOS sets also new standards in the high-speed sanding (to 150m/min)
as well as in the sanding of thin panels (panel thickness up to 1.3mm).
For more than 45 years, Steinemann has been developing and producing wide belt
sanding machines for the panel industry, especially for the sanding of MDF/HDF and
particle board as well as for plywood and laminate.
On the average, 7 of 10 MDF- or particle boards, wider than 1’900 mm, are finished
with a sanding machine of Steinemann Technology AG.
