Invitation to the 6th FEIF International Education Seminar
to be held on January 9 th – 11 th 2009 at NHB Deurne, Holland

The FEIF Education Committee in cooperation with the Dutch Icelandic Horse
Association (NSIJP) and the Dutch Equestrian Vocational Education Centre at Deurne
invites all horse trainers and riding instructors registered in the FEIF Education Matrix
and all FEIF-International Sport and Breeding Judges to the 6 th FEIF International
Education Seminar.
NHB Deurne and NSIJP have a magnificent cooperation in education and we would
like to introduce to you the very best of trainers, instructors, coaches, veterinarians,
dentists and farriers. At this seminar, we aim to challenge your thinking, provide
interesting and informative lectures, and workshops, and continue the discussions
from last year’s FEIF Education Seminar held at Kalo, Denmark. Our theme is “All
around Good Riding”
To guide us through the weekend’s programme you will meet:
- Machteld van Dierendonck, PhD,scientist in horse ethology, chair of the FEIF
Welfare and Veterinary Commission (NL)
- Emiel Voest, freestyle horse trainer (NL)
- Marion Schreuder,Senior Teacher and Team Leader at NHB Deurne (NL)
- Guy Blom, clinical physiotherapist supporting sporthorses in their performance,
main teacher in the programme of animal physiotherapy (NL)
- Patricia de Cocq, PhD student at Wageningen University, teacher of HAS Den
Bosch specialised in the interaction saddle/rider/horse (NL)
- Geert van Attevelt, psychologist, (NL)
- Chris Oomen, teacher of Farrierseducation at NHB Deurne (NL)
- Judith van Aarle, physiotherapist for horses and rider at NHB Deurne (NL)
- Dr.Chris Hannes, Veterinary , main teacher of Equine Dental care at NHB

The seminar will comprise plenary sessions and 7 relevant workshops. All lectures
and the workshops will be held in English.

Deurne is situated east of Eindhoven (not far from WC2007 Oirschot) in the South of
Holland

Accommodation and Meals
All meals from lunch on Friday to lunch on Sunday will be served either at the
educational centre or hotel. If you want vegetarian food or you have special dietary
requirements, please let us know in advance.
In order to accommodate all participants in the conference hotel, most accommodation
will be in rooms with 2 separated beds. Please let us know with whom you prefer to
share. Other wishes may be possible by paying an extra fee.
There will be some shuttle buses for transport between the hotel and the Education
Centre. However, if you have your own car, we kindly ask you to use it for transport
from hotel to NHB Deurne, and assist us by offering lifts to other participants. It is
about, 4.9 km and 10 minutes drive from hotel to Education Centre. We will provide
transport for the excursion on Saturday to Eindhoven.
How to get there?
Road: The Hotel and Educational Centre are easily accessible by car from Holland
and adjacent countries.
Air: Eindhoven Airport is only a 30 minute drive away by taxi. There is also a bus
connection to the railway station Eindhoven and than a railway connection to Deurne.
Other possibilities are Schiphol/Amsterdam airport which has a good railway
connection towards Eindhoven/Deurne. A special price of €11,20.(single ticket) is
available for this connection. Two tickets will be needed one for each day. Also Weeze
Airport (RyanAir) Germany is about 80 minutes drive away. For these participants we
have to organise a special bus. There will be an extra charge for this service. Please
let us know if you need this service.

Registration
The registration form attached to this invitation has to be sent to office@feif.org.
Payment of the participation fee must be made to FEIF’s bank account (see
registration form for details). Only payment in Euro’s is accepted and all bank charges
must be paid by the payee.
The full price will be €525 per person. A discounted price of €475 per person is
available for participants registering and paying before the 7 th of November 2008.
Refunds for cancellations are not allowed; however, substitutions of participants may
be accepted.
The price includes the seminar, accommodation and meals from Friday afternoon until
Sunday lunchtime, Drinks at the hotel and bar are excluded from the price and must
be paid for separately by participants directly to the hotel.
If you are not registered in the FEIF Education Matrix, or a FEIF International Sport or
Breeding Judge, you can apply to the FEIF office for a guest card. After the 10 th
December 2008 any remaining spaces will be offered to those who have applied for
one.
