<strong>to</strong> be held on January 9 th – 11 th 2009 at NHB Deurne, Holland<br />

The <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Committee in cooperation with <strong>the</strong> Dutch Icelandic Horse<br />

Association (NSIJP) and <strong>the</strong> Dutch Equestrian Vocational <strong>Education</strong> Centre at Deurne<br />

invites all horse trainers and riding instruc<strong>to</strong>rs registered in <strong>the</strong> <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Matrix<br />

and all <strong>FEIF</strong>-<strong>International</strong> Sport and Breeding Judges <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> 6 th <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />

<strong>Education</strong> Seminar.<br />

NHB Deurne and NSIJP have a magnificent cooperation in education and we would<br />

like <strong>to</strong> introduce <strong>to</strong> you <strong>the</strong> very best of trainers, instruc<strong>to</strong>rs, coaches, veterinarians,<br />

dentists and farriers. At this seminar, we aim <strong>to</strong> challenge your thinking, provide<br />

interesting and informative lectures, and workshops, and continue <strong>the</strong> discussions<br />

from last year’s <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Seminar held at Kalo, Denmark. Our <strong>the</strong>me is “All<br />

around Good Riding”<br />

To guide us through <strong>the</strong> weekend’s programme you will meet:<br />

- Machteld van Dierendonck, PhD,scientist in horse ethology, chair of <strong>the</strong> <strong>FEIF</strong><br />

Welfare and Veterinary Commission (NL)<br />

- Emiel Voest, freestyle horse trainer (NL)<br />

- Marion Schreuder,Senior Teacher and Team Leader at NHB Deurne (NL)<br />

- Guy Blom, clinical physio<strong>the</strong>rapist supporting sporthorses in <strong>the</strong>ir performance,<br />

main teacher in <strong>the</strong> programme of animal physio<strong>the</strong>rapy (NL)<br />

- Patricia de Cocq, PhD student at Wageningen University, teacher of HAS Den<br />

Bosch specialised in <strong>the</strong> interaction saddle/rider/horse (NL)<br />

- Geert van Attevelt, psychologist, (NL)<br />

- Chris Oomen, teacher of Farrierseducation at NHB Deurne (NL)<br />

- Judith van Aarle, physio<strong>the</strong>rapist for horses and rider at NHB Deurne (NL)<br />

- Dr.Chris Hannes, Veterinary , main teacher of Equine Dental care at NHB<br />

The seminar will comprise plenary sessions and 7 relevant workshops. All lectures<br />

and <strong>the</strong> workshops will be held in English.

Deurne is situated east of Eindhoven (not far from WC2007 Oirschot) in <strong>the</strong> South of<br />

Holland<br />

Accommodation and Meals<br />

All meals from lunch on Friday <strong>to</strong> lunch on Sunday will be served ei<strong>the</strong>r at <strong>the</strong><br />

educational centre or hotel. If you want vegetarian food or you have special dietary<br />

requirements, please let us know in advance.<br />

In order <strong>to</strong> accommodate all participants in <strong>the</strong> conference hotel, most accommodation<br />

will be in rooms with 2 separated beds. Please let us know with whom you prefer <strong>to</strong><br />

share. O<strong>the</strong>r wishes may be possible by paying an extra fee.<br />

There will be some shuttle buses for transport between <strong>the</strong> hotel and <strong>the</strong> <strong>Education</strong><br />

Centre. However, if you have your own car, we kindly ask you <strong>to</strong> use it for transport<br />

from hotel <strong>to</strong> NHB Deurne, and assist us by offering lifts <strong>to</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r participants. It is<br />

about, 4.9 km and 10 minutes drive from hotel <strong>to</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Centre. We will provide<br />

transport for <strong>the</strong> excursion on Saturday <strong>to</strong> Eindhoven.<br />

How <strong>to</strong> get <strong>the</strong>re?<br />

Road: The Hotel and <strong>Education</strong>al Centre are easily accessible by car from Holland<br />

and adjacent countries.<br />

Air: Eindhoven Airport is only a 30 minute drive away by taxi. There is also a bus<br />

connection <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> railway station Eindhoven and than a railway connection <strong>to</strong> Deurne.<br />

O<strong>the</strong>r possibilities are Schiphol/Amsterdam airport which has a good railway<br />

connection <strong>to</strong>wards Eindhoven/Deurne. A special price of €11,20.(single ticket) is<br />

available for this connection. Two tickets will be needed one for each day. Also Weeze<br />

Airport (RyanAir) Germany is about 80 minutes drive away. For <strong>the</strong>se participants we<br />

have <strong>to</strong> organise a special bus. There will be an extra charge for this service. Please<br />

let us know if you need this service.

Registration<br />

The registration form attached <strong>to</strong> this invitation has <strong>to</strong> be sent <strong>to</strong> office@feif.org.<br />

Payment of <strong>the</strong> participation fee must be made <strong>to</strong> <strong>FEIF</strong>’s bank account (see<br />

registration form for details). Only payment in Euro’s is accepted and all bank charges<br />

must be paid by <strong>the</strong> payee.<br />

The full price will be €525 per person. A discounted price of €475 per person is<br />

available for participants registering and paying before <strong>the</strong> 7 th of November 2008.<br />

Refunds for cancellations are not allowed; however, substitutions of participants may<br />

be accepted.<br />

The price includes <strong>the</strong> seminar, accommodation and meals from Friday afternoon until<br />

Sunday lunchtime, Drinks at <strong>the</strong> hotel and bar are excluded from <strong>the</strong> price and must<br />

be paid for separately by participants directly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> hotel.<br />

If you are not registered in <strong>the</strong> <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Matrix, or a <strong>FEIF</strong> <strong>International</strong> Sport or<br />

Breeding Judge, you can apply <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>FEIF</strong> office for a guest card. After <strong>the</strong> 10 th<br />

December 2008 any remaining spaces will be offered <strong>to</strong> those who have applied for<br />

one.<br />
