and elegant residences or lounging about at the luxurious
garden parties. Behind an eminently artificial facade of
glitz and glamour, often masquerading as dilettantes and
sportsmen dressed in scarlet hunting coats, jodhpurs and
polo garb while riding atop thoroughbred prancers, lurked
the Captains of Peninsula Industry. Meet men of awesome
power, indeed some of the most creative and influential
in the nation. Join veteran Peninsula historian Michael
Svanevik as he examines their unique personalities and
discusses their exceptional industrial contributions while
revealing their singular lifestyles.
An alluring Fall series with certain appeal for both men and
women. Mark you calendars! Make no mistake, Captains
of Peninsula Industry will dominate polite conversation
at elegant soirées up and down the Peninsula. This lecture
is a historical mini-series. While each lecture is a selfcontained
