Water Services<br />
DESIGN OFFICE<br />
The Design Office is responsible for the design and delivery of water<br />
services infrastructure, including water supply, wastewater and<br />
surface water drainage schemes and flood relief, to meet the ongoing<br />
needs in the <strong>County</strong>. The Development Management and Water<br />
Pollution Section form part of the Design Office.<br />
Current Projects<br />
• Swords North Strengthening Scheme – Lissenhall to Jordanstown - Construction<br />
ongoing in <strong>2009</strong> with scheduled completion in April 2010.<br />
• Malahide Reservoir Expansion and Augmentation Scheme – Draft contract documents<br />
prepared and SLI application lodged with the DOEHLG for the Project.<br />
• Ward Water Supply Scheme – A number of preliminary sections of main were<br />
replaced in <strong>2009</strong> in advance of approval for full Scheme.<br />
• Balbriggan Water Supply Scheme – Draft solution scheme presented by Consultants<br />
in <strong>2009</strong>.<br />
• Dublin Bay Project Contract No. 5 (Transfer Howth sewage to Sutton Pumpstation) –<br />
Works from Howth Village to Howth Road completed in <strong>2009</strong>. Howth Road to Sutton<br />
Pump Station section of the project over half way complete and should be completed<br />
in 2010.<br />
• Toberburr and Santry Pumpstations – Site investigations works completed on<br />
Toberburr and detailed design to be finalised early in 2010.<br />
• <strong>Fingal</strong> East Meath Flood Risk Assessment and Management Study (FEMFRAMS) –<br />
Work ongoing in <strong>2009</strong> with information from the Study feeding into next <strong>County</strong><br />
Development Plan.<br />
