Environment, Economic and Social Development<br />
• <strong>Fingal</strong>works Website:<br />
A new website called www.fingalworks.ie was launched during September.<br />
www.fingalworks.ie is an online resource providing information for jobseekers,<br />
business start-ups, existing businesses, investors and those with an interest in doing<br />
business or living in <strong>Fingal</strong>. The site was launched with the cooperation of the<br />
Department of Social & Family Affairs, IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, <strong>Fingal</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
Enterprise Board and many of the education and business support agencies in <strong>Fingal</strong>.<br />
Initial feedback has been extremely positive. www.fingalworks.ie provides <strong>Fingal</strong><br />
specific information on social welfare, redundancy, business finance, training,<br />
mentoring, feasibility studies and research and development in an easy to access<br />
format.<br />
European Section<br />
The Edge Cities Network<br />
<strong>Fingal</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Council</strong> continues to participate and add value to the Edge Cities Network<br />
which has brought together towns and cities on the edge of major European capitals<br />
since 1996. The ongoing aim of the network is to share economic and social solutions to<br />
challenges within member locations.<br />
AIREA Project:<br />
An Airport Regions Conference ARIEA project - Airport Regions E-Learning Academy was<br />
successfully completed in <strong>2009</strong>. The project funded under the EU Funding Programme<br />
developed a new and improved pan-European range of vocational training options for the<br />
aviation logistics and airport related industries. Its partners were drawn from Sweden,<br />
Latvia, Ireland and Spain.<br />

66 properties rendered safe/non-derelict in 2008<br />
No properties were entered in the Derelict sites register at the 31st December <strong>2009</strong><br />
