Tempo de voo
Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós. Illustrations
by Alfonso Ruano. Edições SM. 44p.
ISBN 9788560820757
Many philosophers, mathematicians, physicians and poets
have elected time as their research subject. In Tempo de
voo, Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós, award-winning
writer, winner of the IV SM Ibero-American Children
Literature Award and nominated for the 2010 IBBY
Hans Christian Andersen Award, decided also to dedicate
himself to this so enigmatic and not quite concrete
subject: time. It has numerous formats: it is invisible, but has hands, belly, heart and wrinkles.
It is light and untouchable, insomniac and adventurer, fragile and frightening. There are a
number of metaphors used by the author to describe time. The illustrations, by the renowned
Spanish illustrator Alfonso Ruano, inspired in surrealism, follow the same atmosphere of the
text. They send the reader to a fantastic and oniric world.
