Haiku are short poems (three lines), invented by the Japanese,
that concentrate major themes. For some, it is the heart of
poetry. For others, it is a very special way of seeing life. In
this book, there is a little bit of everything: love, longing, joy,
nature, all fine dosed, to make you want to read a little more,
a little more.
Olavo Bilac, considered the most important Parnassian
poet in Brazil, explored, in this book, topics that do not
lose relevance, such as love, nature, family and time,
using humor and dedication to talk about common facts
of life. He awakes laughter and reflection in the child,
adolescent or adult, and presents as well issues such as
racism, religion and poverty. This book has been absent
from bookstores and libraries for decades. At the time it
was published in 1904, the poet conquered readers all
over Brazil, and the book had many reprints.
