2.1.5 Epidemiology <strong>of</strong> IBD<br />

The literature surrounding the epidemiology <strong>of</strong> IBD is very rich [11]. Table 1.<br />

summarizes some <strong>of</strong> the incidence <strong>an</strong>d prevalence rates reported in population-based<br />

studies <strong>for</strong> CD <strong>an</strong>d UC.<br />
