Potential industrial adopters nanotechnology<br />
Potential applicati<strong>on</strong> areas for different types of nanomaterials<br />
are outlined below:<br />
Nanostructured materials will find applicati<strong>on</strong>s as composite<br />
materials in structural, coatings, drug delivery, display<br />
systems, barrier materials and abrasives;<br />
Nanoparticles will find applicati<strong>on</strong>s as drug delivery<br />
systems, catalysis, batteries, diagnostics and cosmetics;<br />
Nanoporous will find applicati<strong>on</strong>s in filtrati<strong>on</strong>, purificati<strong>on</strong>,<br />
catalysis and electr<strong>on</strong>ics;<br />
Fullerenes are carb<strong>on</strong>-based materials that are<br />
biocompatible and potentially will be used for drug delivery;<br />
Nanotubes will find applicati<strong>on</strong>s in displays, electr<strong>on</strong>ics,<br />
drug delivery and structural applicati<strong>on</strong>s;<br />
Nanofibres will find applicati<strong>on</strong>s primarily in structural and<br />
composite materials;<br />
Nanoelectr<strong>on</strong>ics is the utilisati<strong>on</strong> of molecules or groups of<br />
molecules as comp<strong>on</strong>ents in electr<strong>on</strong>ic circuitry;<br />
