Academical Village (AV) Chimney and Spr<strong>in</strong>kler Project<br />
Background:<br />
The spr<strong>in</strong>kler work that was completed last summer <strong>in</strong>volved underground utility connections to supply water<br />
<strong>in</strong>frastructure <strong>in</strong> several locations around Central Grounds. Two of these locations were <strong>in</strong> <strong>Poe</strong> <strong>Alley</strong>, at the west end, and<br />
also <strong>in</strong> the park<strong>in</strong>g court. These connections required that the “Addastone” coat<strong>in</strong>g and asphalt be cut, and patched back<br />
<strong>in</strong> place. The application method of the “Addastone” requires that the asphalt cure for 90 days before the new coat<strong>in</strong>g is<br />
applied, and then only if the weather and temperature conditions are correct. The utility conditions were made last fall,<br />
and therefore the University decided to wait until after F<strong>in</strong>al Exercises to complete this work.<br />
Scope of Work:<br />
“Addastone” application <strong>in</strong> <strong>Poe</strong> <strong>Alley</strong>. This work will require that the areas be power-washed <strong>in</strong> advance of the<br />
application. The actual application will take several hours, after which vehicular and pedestrian traffic must stay off of<br />
the product for proper cur<strong>in</strong>g. Please see the attached diagram for more <strong>in</strong>formation.<br />
Schedule:<br />
Power-wash<strong>in</strong>g to occur 05/29, 8:00am – 12:00pm<br />
“Addastone” application to occur 05/30, 8:00am – 05/31, 5:00pm<br />
Park<strong>in</strong>g Impacts:<br />
There will be <strong>NO</strong> <strong>PARKING</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Poe</strong> <strong>Alley</strong>, <strong>L4</strong> <strong>Lot</strong> from 7:30am – 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 29 th .<br />
There will be <strong>NO</strong> <strong>PARKING</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Poe</strong> <strong>Alley</strong>, <strong>L4</strong> <strong>Lot</strong> from 7:30am, Thursday, May 30 th – 5:00pm, Friday, May 31 st .<br />
