Dispersing Agent _<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40(N)&45<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 is sodium salt of poly (acrylic acid) and <strong>HIDIS</strong><br />

45 is ammonium salt of poly (acrylic acid) type highmolecular<br />

dispersant designed for use as a pigment<br />

dispersing agent.<br />

Both give high efficiency in dispersing of titanium<br />

dioxide, calcium carbonate and other extenders into<br />

water and also in lowering the viscosity.<br />

Advantages<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 are versatile dispersants which<br />

provide easy dispersion, and water resistance of emulsion<br />

paints.<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 markedly lower the viscosity of mill<br />

base when pigment grinding.<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 are recommended as dispersants of<br />

semi-gloss paints, sheen paints and flat paints, providing<br />

good stability of viscosity.<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 provide anti-setting of pigments and<br />

no flocculation of pigments in emulsion paints for long<br />

term storage.<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 provide good efficiency of grinding<br />

using small dispersant amounts.<br />

Appearance<br />

Safety and Handling<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 40 and <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 are slightly irritating to the skin and<br />

eyes, and contact with these areas should be avoided. When<br />

handling wear impervious rubber gloves and<br />

goggles/facemask.<br />

For handling/operation where possible contact may occur, a<br />

safety shower and eyewash station should be available.<br />

documentation. Store in a closed container at 5-40 .<br />

Dosages<br />

It is recommended to use about 0.4-0.6% wt. of <strong>HIDIS</strong> 40<br />

based on dry pigments.<br />

<strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 is more effective than <strong>HIDIS</strong> 40.<br />

0.3-0.5% wt. of <strong>HIDIS</strong> 45 based on dry pigments is<br />

recommended.
