At the beginning of Act 4, the refugees stand near the border, with Birnam Wood in the
distance. Macduff, determined to avenge the deaths of his wife and children, is joined
by Malcolm, son of king Duncan, and the English army, as they prepare to liberate
Scotland from the tyrant Macbeth.

dance (a cachucha). The finale is a reprise of the cachuca, here added after a short piano
link.
