THE EVENT Over the past 12 years, the American Diabetes Association<br />
has honored a wide range of community leaders who have made significant<br />
contributions for the betterment of our community. This <strong>November</strong>, the Valor<br />
Council will come together in commemoration of past honorees at a gathering of<br />
our areas most influential corporate, civic, medical, and philanthropic leaders.<br />
Guests will enjoy time socializing with Broward’s best, a top notch silent<br />
auction, and live musical entertainment.<br />
This year’s Valor Grand Finale! Luncheon is being co-chaired by Alan Goldberg<br />
of Diversified Companies and Karan Munuswamy, MD of Holy Cross Medical<br />
Group. Joe Rose, former Miami Dolphin and NBC 6 South Florida sports anchor,<br />
will be the Master of Ceremonies.<br />
THE CAUSE The American Diabetes Association is the leading national<br />
healthcare organization in the world of diabetes research, education and<br />
advocacy. The organization’s mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to<br />
improve the lives of all people affected by this disease. Diabetes is the largest<br />
growing epidemic in Broward County affecting 1 in 3 residents.<br />
Locally the American Diabetes Association funds much needed community<br />
educational programs including the Healthy Families Initiative and Project Power.<br />
