Broken Hearts
How can the sun shine in th e skies,
the rain d ouds far away;
children playing in th e streets,
when I broke my hea rt today!
Why arc the birds singing sweetly,
the grass is, oh, so green;
summer flowers blooming,
when I broke my heart loday!
Don'l they know to wilt and
whimper
would make me feel much
better;
but how should they,
who smile that way
know thai I broke my hea rt today!

A Tramp Goes Home
Wild geese ca lling.
just an swered the pho ne;
been gone for a long lime,
going back home.
Been gone for a long time,
The wi fe will be glad;
Th ough to leave my buddies
Makes me feel strangely sad.
But that is the way o f
A tramp o n th e road ,
Who battles the wo rld
With his personal load.
We leave to survive
And fo llow o ur trade;
U's our way o f tife
And the choice we have made.
M y tools will go with me
This is no thing new ;
"II follow th e white line
That leads me to you .
For though we may wa nder
And far we may roa m,
W hen wild geese are calling
It's good to go ho me.

What is this thing that we ca ll life,
A few short years of joy and strife?
A child is born and becomes a
man;
He takes a wife and they begin 10
plan .
There arc times of pleasure and
also so rrow;
They help each other through each
tomorrow.
The yea rs go by and thei r d rea ms
come true;
A ho me and chi ldren, a dollar or
two.
They begin to relax in this thing
called life,
S!ill uncertain, this man and wife;
Just what is the purpose of th ese
few short years
of living together through the
smiles and tears.
Then comes a visit by this thing
ca lled Death
and one is gone, the other is left.
The one who is gone will wo nder
no more;
The o ne who is left still st udies the
score.
