3. In order for a Paint horse to receive<br />
an APHA award, the owner must be<br />
an APHA or AjPHA member on the<br />
date the award is bestowed. To be<br />
eligible to receive the award, the<br />
owner may retroactively purchase<br />
the required annual membership.<br />
Despite owner eligibility, the horse’s<br />
achievement will be recorded in its<br />
permanent record.<br />

Application or Renewal.<br />
A. AMATEUR EXHIBITOR CARD. Every<br />
exhibitor competing in an Amateur class<br />
must possess a current Amateur<br />
exhibitor card issued by the APHA, as<br />
well as a current APHA membership<br />
(see SC-160.A.). All owners must also<br />
possess a current APHA membership in<br />
order to show in APHA-approved<br />
classes. Show management must<br />
inspect the current card, legible<br />
photocopy of the current card, or a<br />
temporary card at each show.<br />
Application/renewal for an Amateur<br />
card shall be made on a form provided<br />
by APHA, available from them at no<br />
charge, and returned with applicable<br />
fees as provided below. A temporary<br />
Amateur card ($40) may be applied for<br />
through the show secretary at an APHAapproved<br />
show. A current APHA<br />
membership at the time of application is<br />
mandatory. See Rules GR-020.H., SC-<br />
160.A. and YP-005.A.4.<br />

mandatory to exhibit at an APHAapproved<br />
