ALTERNATIVES
1. Approve the new organizational structure (Attachment A) and draft
language of Article 1 (Attachment B), and direct staff to proceed with the
next phases of Retooling the Zoning Code.
2. Approve the organizational structure and draft language of Article 1 with
modifications, and direct staff to proceed with the next phases of
Retooling the Zoning Code.
3. Provide direction to Planning Commission and staff on the preferred
approach to addressing the policy questions on nonconforming uses,
structures and lots.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Alternative 1 and Alternative 3. Based on City Council
direction on Alternative 3, the Planning Commission and staff will further
evaluate the issues and present a recommendation to the City Council.
Additionally, if the Council believes that more discussion is necessary prior to
providing direction, a Council study session could be scheduled on this topic.
