Conduct on School Buses
Protect your riding privileges by following these rules at all times
while on board the bus.
1. Students must carry their bus pass at all times and show it to
the driver upon request
2. Obey and cooperate with the bus driver at all times. He/she is
authorized to assign seats.
3. Behave on the bus with respect as you would in a classroom.
4. Help keep your bus clean – eating, drinking, smoking and gum
chewing are not permitted on the bus
5. Remain seated until the bus arrives at the stop and the bus
door is opened
6. Keep your head, arms, hands and legs to yourself and inside
the bus.
7. Be courteous and only talk quietly (no profanity or bullying)
8. Respect property. (Parents are responsible for the repair or
replacement of damaged property.
9. The following are not permitted on a school bus: animals,
glass containers, balloons, skateboards, scooters, portable
electronic devices. Cell phones and pagers must be turned off
and kept in the student’s purse or backpack at all times.
10. Cleats cannot be worn on the bus; they cause too much
damage
11. Students must adhere to the dress code on all school buses.
The wearing of hats is prohibited.
Consequences of Misbehavior on School Buses
and at Bus Stops
Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from
school in cases where bus riding privileges have been suspended.
First Incident: Bus driver issues first bus conduct report which is
sent to the parent and school by Transportation
Second Incident: Bus driver issues second bus conduct report
which is sent to the school and a copy home. Driver informs
student. School administration takes appropriate action in
accordance with school discipline plan and notifies parents.
Third Incident: Bus driver issues third bus conduct report which
is sent to the school and a copy home. Driver informs student.
Parent conference is recommended. School administration takes
appropriate action in accordance with school discipline plan and
notifies parents. Bus privilege is revoked for one day.
Fourth Incident: Bus driver issues fourth bus conduct report
which is sent to the school and a copy home. Driver informs
student. Parent conference is held. School administration takes
appropriate action in accordance with school discipline plan and
notifies parents. Bus privilege is revoked for one week.
Fifth Incident: Bus driver issues fifth bus conduct report which is
sent to the school and a copy home. Driver informs student. Parent
conference is held. School administration takes action in
accordance with school discipline plan and notifies parents. Bus
privilege is revoked for the remainder of the semester.
