Some evidence suggests that natural inputs to the f o ~ s t
are greater than those to the gmzod system (Davies, 1969;
Mindernan & Leeflang, 1 968) but outputs, other than the
crop,iire si.nilar for both land-uses (pp. 12 - 15 & 23 - 32,
. . Roberts & Jams, 1972) the ecosystems are undisturbed.
This is reflected in the greater accmuktion of nutrients
in the f omst than in the ~ r~zed system (pp. 28 - 32).
