Possible Partners and their Roles:<br />
• Union <strong>of</strong> BC Municipalities: 1) connect planned campaign events<br />
with similar events being organized by other local governments.<br />
• Non-pr<strong>of</strong>it agencies, particularly those providing services to<br />
refugees and immigrants, persons with disabilities, and seniors;<br />
community organizations, including ethno-cultural and faith groups;<br />
general business community; business associations; <strong>Burnaby</strong><br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Trade; British Columbia Real Estate Association and real<br />
estate companies; health organizations; educational institutions;<br />
<strong>Burnaby</strong> School District and other schools: 1) participate in and<br />
help advertise organized awareness campaign events; 2) provide<br />
input into the development <strong>of</strong> the campaign.<br />
• Provincial government, corporations in <strong>Burnaby</strong>: 1) provide funding<br />
for the campaign.<br />
• Local media: 1) publicize the campaign.<br />

undertake public disaster simulation exercises to assess and improve<br />

with the <strong>Burnaby</strong> business community, which <strong>of</strong>fers emergency kits at<br />
a discounted price to community residents.<br />
