Erasmus Course Catalogue
Department of Politics and International Relations
at Canterbury Christ Church University
Politics options for incoming Erasmus students
Incoming Erasmus students can choose modules from Years 2 and 3. On the following pages, you will find a full listing of
what is available for you . Once you have selected modules that are of interest to you, you will want to know more details
of the modules and programmes the Department offers. Details can be found on the Department webpages. If you would
like fuller details of the modules you are interested in, make a note of the module name and code and contact the departmental
Erasmus Coordinator who will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Some of these options may be subject to validation and may in a few circumstances mean the modules may not run. Once
you have made your choices and applied, you will be updated by your departmental Erasmus Coordinator
All Politics modules are worth 10 ECTS. Some are ‘short and fat’ and run in one term only. Others are ‘long and thin’ and
run for two terms. Please note that exams for short fat modules, which run in the first term, may also be held in May/June.
In addition to the modules detailed below, there may also be room for Erasmus students in some Year 2 and 3 modules in
American Studies and Geography, which provide you with more options. As these options are not based in our programme
we cannot guarantee places and the timetables are not yet available.
Erasmus students are also welcome to join Level 2 Modules run by the English and Language Studies Department (all
worth 10 ECTS):
'Intercultural Communication 1'
'An Introduction to Teaching English as Foreign Language'
'Discourse Text and genre'
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria for selected modules may vary. If for instance you chose modules which contain practical elements, you
will be asked to provide evidence of your practical skills to date.
On the following page, you will find a list of module options.
