73. Communicable Diseases amongst Cattle.—Every dairyman shall,<br />
immediately on becoming aware of the occurrence of any communicable disease amongst<br />
any of his cattle, notify the Medical Officer of Health <strong>and</strong> shall comply with the said<br />
officer’s requirements for preventing the spread of the disease.<br />
74. Sick Animals to be Excluded from <strong>Milk</strong> Shed.—No dairyman shall keep any<br />
sick animal in a milk shed where milk is produced for sale nor shall he knowingly permit<br />
any cow to calve in such milk shed or to be therein within six days after calving.<br />
75. <strong>Milk</strong> of Diseased Cow.—No dairyman or milk dealer shall sell or supply for<br />
human consumption the milk of any cow suffering from any of the diseases specified<br />
below, either by itself or mixed with the milk of any other cow—<br />
Tuberculosis<br />
Actinomycosis.<br />
Anthrax.<br />
Mastitis.<br />
Cowpox.<br />
Any septic or febrile condition.<br />
Gastro-enteritis.<br />
Mange.<br />
Contagious abortion.<br />
Foot <strong>and</strong> mouth disease.<br />
MILK AND MILK PRODUCT STANDARDS<br />
76. Quality of <strong>Milk</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Milk</strong> <strong>Products</strong> for Processing.—No milk dealer shall<br />
pasteurise, or otherwise process any milk or milk products unless such milk or milk<br />
products, upon arrival at the premises of such milk dealer, are in conformity with the<br />
st<strong>and</strong>ards prescribed by these By-laws.<br />

77. Bacterial St<strong>and</strong>ards of <strong>Milk</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Milk</strong> <strong>Products</strong>.—No dairyman or milk<br />
dealer shall sell milk or milk products unless such milk or milk products conform to the<br />
specifications prescribed in these By-laws.<br />

78. Acidity <strong>and</strong> Temperature: Provision of Equipment.—(1) Every dairyman,<br />
milk dealer <strong>and</strong> purveyor shall provide <strong>and</strong> use the equipment necessary for accurately<br />
determining the temperature of all milk or milk products on the premises.<br />
(2) Every milk dealer shall provide <strong>and</strong> use the equipment <strong>and</strong> other facilities<br />
necessary for determining the acidity of milk or milk products received by him for<br />
pasteurisation or other process.<br />

79. Extraneous Substances.—(a) No dairyman or milk dealer or purveyor shall<br />
add any preservative, water, dried or condensed milk or any other extraneous matter to<br />
any milk sold by him or produced by him or in his premises for purposes of sale or<br />
delivery to a purchaser or consumer nor shall he reconstitute milk.
