TAX INFORMATION<br />
The Internal Revenue Service has directed charitable organizations, such as the <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Traverse</strong> <strong>Area</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>,<br />
to disclose to contributors certain approximate costs <strong>of</strong> fundraising events to assist taxpayers in taking proper federal<br />
income tax deductions. In the spirit there<strong>of</strong>, you should know that $90 <strong>of</strong> the cost <strong>of</strong> your ticket to the auction might<br />
be deductible as a charitable contribution on your federal income tax return. Further, the excess <strong>of</strong> the price you<br />
successfully bid for any item over its donor or retail value is deductible. Please see your personal tax advisor concerning<br />
the actual deductibility <strong>of</strong> any portion <strong>of</strong> your contributions or purchases at the auction. While the <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Traverse</strong> <strong>Area</strong><br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Schools</strong> cannot advise you as to the deductibility <strong>of</strong> specific items, we will be pleased to provide available factual<br />
information to assist you in making your individual determinations on request.<br />

A PLAN FOR THE FUTURE<br />
A plan has been created to save a<br />
portion <strong>of</strong> the net proceeds from<br />
Gladhander! The goal is to create<br />
a permanent GLADHANDER<br />
SCHOLARSHIP FUND that will be<br />
held and managed by the <strong>Grand</strong><br />
<strong>Traverse</strong> <strong>Area</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Schools</strong><br />
Foundation, Inc. A range <strong>of</strong> one<br />
to ten percent <strong>of</strong> the Gladhander<br />
net proceeds will be invested in the<br />
GLADHANDER SCHOLARSHIP<br />
FUND once the event reaches the<br />
level <strong>of</strong> $350,000. This structure will<br />
impact future generations.<br />
The <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Traverse</strong> <strong>Area</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong><br />
<strong>Schools</strong> Foundation, Inc. (Foundation)<br />
has more than $1 million in assets<br />
and provides more than$50,000 in<br />
annual grants to GTACS through<br />
permanently endowed scholarship<br />
funds and designated funds. The<br />
leadership team <strong>of</strong> the Foundation<br />
consists <strong>of</strong> 5 priests, 12 lay trustees,<br />
and 2 honorary lay trustees. Here is a<br />
