Having just recently encountered once again the strong faith and youthful vitality of the
Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools community at the all systems Mass, I am thrilled to
learn that there are so many of you who will be demonstrating your support for those
excellent Christ-centered schools by participating in the 29 th annual Gladhander, Seuss on
the Loose.
I am convinced that it is because of your generosity and the efforts of the school’s
many supporters that the tradition of excellence that has long distinguished our Catholic
Schools in Traverse City will continue. It is your commitment that makes it concretely
possible for the schools to meet the challenge of providing a first-rate education that is
thoroughly permeated with a Catholic world-view.
I am increasingly confident that the whole Diocese is enriched by the wonderful work
that is undertaken in our Catholic schools. As we celebrate our 40 th anniversary as a
Diocese, we see graduates of our schools in positions of responsibility throughout our
parishes and institutions, strengthening our families and navigating our local Church through
the challenges of this age. On behalf of the Diocese of Gaylord, I thank you for your inspiring
support of this important apostolate. May the Lord bless you in abundance for your
