4000 – Data Development and Analysis<br />
To gather transportation-related data and facilitate the advancement of studies conducted by GTC staff and<br />
other agencies in the <strong>Genesee</strong>-Finger Lakes Region, the following tasks will be advanced:<br />
4186 – <strong>2010</strong> Census TAZ Analysis and Revisions<br />
Objective:<br />
To analyze and revise current <strong>Transportation</strong> Analysis Zones (TAZs) based on U.S. Census<br />
Bureau requirements for the <strong>2010</strong> Census <strong>Transportation</strong> Planning Package.<br />

Process:<br />
Perform background research on U.S. Census Bureau requirements for TAZs. Review existing<br />
TAZs based on analysis and mapping of employment centers, special generators, and land<br />
uses. Update TAZs utilizing transportation modeling factors such as trip generation, and<br />
changes in population and number of households. Digitize TAZ changes in GIS layer. Prepare<br />
report and associated executive summary for submittal, review, and revision.<br />
