geological and geotechnical aspects of the deposit over
an extended strike length underground. The results
from this work will then be used to complete the BFS
on the Project.
KATANNING PGM PROJECT
The Company was issued with an Exploration License
over an area near Katanning in the south west of Western
Australia which is believed to contain an intrusive of
similar age and geology to the Stella Intrusive which
hosts the Kalahari PGM Project mineralisation.
PLA has completed an initial program of soil
sampling and plans further work on the project in the
coming year.
GOLD AND BASE METALS
MELVILLE PROJECT

Prosperity Resources has continued a limited program
of work on this project during the year. At this point no
decision has been made with regard to the development
of the project.

PANTON PGM RECOVERY PROCESS
Platinum Australia has continued to undertake test work
on the application of the “Panton Process” on samples
from various projects. Following positive results on a
number of these, further programs are planned as part
of ongoing studies on the projects.
The “Panton Process” consists of two distinct parts,
a calcine-leach process in which a low grade flotation
concentrate is subjected to low temperature calcination
followed by cyanide leaching at elevated temperatures
to dissolve the PGM’s, gold and base metals; and a
Metals Recovery process which recovers the dissolved
metals from the leach solution by precipitation and
which may then be further upgraded to a separate high
grade PGM concentrate and base metal concentrate.
Should the BFS currently under way on the Panton
Project prove successful this will require the construction
of a commercial scale Panton Process. This should
enhance the potential for the application of the process
to other projects.
