13. ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE<br />
The Consolidated Entity is subject to a range of<br />
environmental laws and regulations in respect to its<br />
exploration and development activities.<br />
The Company aims to ensure the appropriate standard<br />
of environmental care is achieved, and in doing so,<br />
that it is aware of and is in compliance with all relevant<br />
environmental legislation.<br />
During the year, the Company met all reporting<br />
requirements in relation to the above environmental<br />
legislation. No circumstances arose which resulted<br />
in an incident to be reported under environmental<br />
legislation.<br />
14. EVENTS SUBSEQUENT TO<br />
BALANCE DATE<br />
No matters or circumstances have arisen since the end<br />
of the financial year which have significantly affected or<br />
may significantly affect the operations, results or state of<br />
affairs of the Consolidated Entity in subsequent financial<br />
years other than as disclosed in Note 20 to the Financial<br />
Statements.<br />
16. INDEMNIFICATION OF OFFICERS<br />
An indemnity agreement has been entered into with<br />
each of the Directors of the Company named earlier in<br />
this report. Under the agreement, the Company has<br />
agreed to indemnify those officers against any claim or<br />
for any expenses or costs which may arise as a result of<br />
work performed in their respective capacities. There is<br />
no monetary limit to the extent of this indemnity.<br />
During the financial year, the Company has paid<br />
premiums to insure the Directors and executives against<br />
certain liabilities arising out of their conduct while<br />
acting as an officer of the Company. Under the terms<br />
and conditions of the insurance contract, the nature of<br />
liabilities insured against and the premium paid cannot<br />
be disclosed.<br />

15. NON-AUDIT SERVICES AND<br />
AUDITOR INDEPENDENCE<br />
The Company may decide to employ the auditor on<br />
assignments additional to their statutory audit duties<br />
where the auditor’s expertise and experience with the<br />
Company and/or the Consolidated Entity are important.<br />
During the year ended 30 June <strong>2006</strong>, the auditor did<br />
not provide any non-audit services.<br />
The Directors received an independence declaration<br />
from the auditor of the Company and a copy as required<br />
under section 307C of the Corporation Act 2001 is set<br />
out on page 28.<br />
