Maintenance and assembly<br />

In order to correctly fit and assemble the kits, please consult the<br />
user instructions which are included in delivery<br />
<strong>The</strong> maintenance specifications for <strong>univers</strong> (see below), must be<br />
followed (in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610)<br />
Maintenance specification (according to VDE 0100 Part 610)<br />
- Visual inspection of covers and encasements for damage,<br />
which impact on the IP rating of the product<br />
- Visual inspection of terminals<br />
- Test of the terminals in the main circuit, and re tightening of<br />
torques if necessary (as outlined in the busbar terminal table)<br />
- Functional test of switchgear, e.g. earth fault protection switch<br />
- Functional test of display functions of analogue measuring<br />
devices<br />
- Checking of the setting values on the operational devices e.g.<br />
MCBs, as per the switch documentation<br />
- Visual inspection for damage of individual wires<br />
- Visual inspection of the individual devices for shape or colour<br />
changes which may have occurred from thermal effects<br />
- Removal / correction of any identified faults (e.g. through replacement<br />
of faulty parts)<br />

<strong>The</strong>refore the earth fault switch with breaking sensitivity up to<br />
max 500mA is fitted. With a "small" residual current, it is sufficient<br />

It is necessary to lay out the earth protected current accordingly<br />
with the continuous current. <strong>The</strong>refore the 10mm 2 and 16mm 2<br />
copper wire cable must be used to earth the carrier rails for a<br />
nominal current of 250A. This gives a earth protected current<br />
width of 25mm 2 . For 400A the width for earth protection is<br />
50mm 2 , and 630A is 75mm 2 (values according to DIN VDE 0660<br />
part 500). Corresponding wires are offered in the <strong>univers</strong> range<br />

System<br />
Use of DIN Rails as earthing conductor - busbar<br />
According to DIN VDE 0611 T.3/11.89 Paragraph 3.1.1 approved<br />
rails, (including DIN rails complying with DIN EN 50 022) may be<br />
used as protective earth conductor busbars, as long as the<br />
values of thermal short circuit and thermal current rating, as outlined<br />
in the table, are not exceeded.<br />
Exception<br />
Steel earth conductor busbars may not be used as PEN wires or<br />
N wires. <strong>The</strong>refore there is no values given in the table for max<br />
allowable thermal rated current for PEN function.<br />
