The following is a summary of the extra community events that the officers of the <strong>Hamburg</strong><br />
<strong>Township</strong> Police Department participated in during <strong>2012</strong>:<br />
January<br />
• Officer Taylor Scripps did a presentation for the Country Elementary PTO covering opiate<br />
abuse and addiction on January 10, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Chief Richard Duffany represented the police department at the Livingston County S.A.V.E.<br />
(Serving Adults who are Vulnerable/Elderly) meeting on January 26, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
February<br />
• Chief Richard Duffany represented the police department at the <strong>Hamburg</strong> Kiwanis Board<br />
breakfast held at St. Paul’s Church on February 21, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
March<br />
• Chief Richard Duffany represented the police department at the community liaison meeting<br />
at the Woodland Correctional Facility in Green Oak on March 13, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Officer Taylor Scripps represented the police department at the Pinckney Coalition meeting<br />
held on March 22, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Officer Megan Paul attended a Girl Scout meeting at Lakeland Elementary on March 27,<br />
<strong>2012</strong> where she gave a presentation on internet safety.<br />
• Chief Richard Duffany attended the <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Library Story Hour program on<br />
March 27, <strong>2012</strong> and March 28, <strong>2012</strong> where he read stories to groups of children (ages 3-5)<br />
and answered public safety related questions.<br />
April<br />
• Officer Taylor Scripps attended the “Addiction 101” presentation held at the <strong>Hamburg</strong><br />
<strong>Township</strong> Senior Center on April 2, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Officer Taylor Scripps and Officer Clint Pace represented the police department at the<br />
“Pinckney + Love” event held at Pathfinder School on April 5, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Deputy Chief Dariusz Nisenbaum attended the Whispering Pines Homeowners Association<br />
annual meeting held on April 18, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Officer Taylor Scripps hosted a Cub Scout tour of the <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> police station on<br />
April 24, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Officer Tony Wallace participated in the Country Elementary School “Walk to School”<br />
event held on April 25, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Sgt. Gary Harpe represented the police department at the Pinckney Coalition meeting held<br />
at the <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Senior Center on April 26, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Sgt. Patrick DeBottis participated in the national “Prescription Take Back Day” event held<br />
April 28, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
May<br />
• Sgt. Gary Harpe represented the police department at the Pinckney Coalition meeting<br />
held on May 8, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
• Sgt. Gary Harpe participated in the “Walk to School” event held at Lakeland Elementary<br />
School on May 16, <strong>2012</strong>.
