• Officer Taylor Scripps hosted Lakeland Elementary School students on a tour of the police<br />

station on June 5, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Sgt. Gary Harpe was present at Lakeland Elementary and Officer Wallace was present at<br />

Country Elementary for the last day of school on June 7, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Sgt. Gary Harpe represented the police department at the Dunlavy Homeowners<br />

Association meeting held on June 20, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Officer Taylor Scripps attended the Pinckney Coalition meeting held on June 28, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Officer Anthony Wallace participated in a children’s bicycle parade in the Hay Creek<br />

Subdivision on June 30, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

July<br />

• Extra marine patrols were out on the Chain of Lakes on July 4, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

August<br />

• Officer Alysha Garbacik assisted in the filming of the movie “As Far As You Know” on<br />

August 3, <strong>2012</strong>. The movie, based upon a book by a local 12-year old author, had two<br />

scene that required a police car and uniformed police officer.<br />

• The 19th annual <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Police Officers Association golf outing was held on<br />

August 4, <strong>2012</strong> at the Whispering Pines Golf Club.<br />

• The annual “Tri at the Tavern” triathlon occurred August 18, <strong>2012</strong> on and around Zukey<br />

Lake. Deputy Chief Dariusz Nisenbaum and Officer Tony Wallace provided law<br />

enforcement assistance by patrolling Zukey Lake in the HTPD police boat.<br />

September<br />

• <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> police officers were on hand at all 4 schools located in <strong>Hamburg</strong><br />

<strong>Township</strong> for the first day of school on September 4, <strong>2012</strong>. Sgt. Gary Harpe was at<br />

Lakeland Elementary, Officer Alysha Garbacik was at Navigator, Officer Megan Paul was<br />

at Pathfinder and Officer Steve Locke was at Country Elementary.<br />

• The <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Police Officers Associated hosted a 5K Foot Chase in and around<br />

the <strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> complex on September 15, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Officer Megan Paul participated in a Girl Scout ceremony held at Country Elementary on<br />

September 19, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Chief Richard Duffany, Deputy Chief Dariusz Nisenbaum, Sgt. Gary Harpe, Officer Megan<br />

Paul and Officer Clint Pace assisted with the “Fun on the Lakelands Trail” event held on<br />

September 29, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Sgt. Patrick DeBottis participated in the DEA “National Prescription Take-Back Day” held<br />

on September 29, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

October<br />

• Officer Megan Paul and Officer Spencer Flavin represented the police department at the<br />

<strong>Hamburg</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Fire Department Open House held on October 13, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Sgt. Gary Harpe represented the police department at the Patriotic Concert held at Pinckney<br />

High School on October 16, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

• Chief Richard Duffany participated as a judge in the Spelling Bee held at Pathfinder<br />

School on October 23, <strong>2012</strong>.
