RESULT OF ELECTION<br />

NOVEMBER 5, 1940<br />

Meeting was called to order at 10 o'clock A. M.<br />

Ballot Clerks appointed were Roscoe B. Palmer, Robert<br />

Brown, Lewis F. Stevens, Clifton N. Marston, Ernest<br />

W. Towle, Floyd Gale, Charles Raymond, Charles F.<br />

Adams, Lawrence Walker, Ralph Perkins, Frank Collins,<br />

after which ballots were given to ballot clerks and votes<br />

were then called for.<br />

It was then voted to close the polls at 7 :30 P. M.<br />

Polls were closed according to the vote, at 7:30 P. M.<br />

RESULT OF VOTES<br />

Total number names on checklist 1534<br />

Total number ballots cast 1286<br />

Absentee ballots sent out 43<br />

Absentee ballots returned 42<br />

REPUBLICAN<br />

James C. Farmer, Keene; Arthur E. Moreau, Manchester;<br />

Huntley N. Spaulding, Rochester; and Mabel B.<br />

Wegeth, Hanover; Wiikie and McNary; had 894 votes.<br />

DEMOCRATIC<br />

Damase Caron, Manchester; Irving A. Hinkley,<br />

Lancaster;<br />

Micheal O'Malley, Somersworth and Charlotte E.<br />

Woodbury, Bedford; Roosevelt and Wallace; had 380<br />

votes.<br />

PROHIBITION<br />

Harvey M. Bailey, Roxbury; Beuler, Berquist. Lempston<br />

; Grace M. Hamilton, Wilton and Calvin Warburton,<br />

Hampton ; for Babson and Moorman, had 1 vote.<br />
