RESULT OF ELECTION
NOVEMBER 5, 1940
Meeting was called to order at 10 o'clock A. M.
Ballot Clerks appointed were Roscoe B. Palmer, Robert
Brown, Lewis F. Stevens, Clifton N. Marston, Ernest
W. Towle, Floyd Gale, Charles Raymond, Charles F.
Adams, Lawrence Walker, Ralph Perkins, Frank Collins,
after which ballots were given to ballot clerks and votes
were then called for.
It was then voted to close the polls at 7 :30 P. M.
Polls were closed according to the vote, at 7:30 P. M.

Total number ballots cast 1286
Absentee ballots sent out 43
Absentee ballots returned 42

REPUBLICAN
James C. Farmer, Keene; Arthur E. Moreau, Manchester;
Huntley N. Spaulding, Rochester; and Mabel B.
Wegeth, Hanover; Wiikie and McNary; had 894 votes.
DEMOCRATIC
Damase Caron, Manchester; Irving A. Hinkley,
Lancaster;
Micheal O'Malley, Somersworth and Charlotte E.
Woodbury, Bedford; Roosevelt and Wallace; had 380
votes.
PROHIBITION
Harvey M. Bailey, Roxbury; Beuler, Berquist. Lempston
; Grace M. Hamilton, Wilton and Calvin Warburton,
Hampton ; for Babson and Moorman, had 1 vote.
