Bella Rosa<br />

Robin Beeking presented eight-year old Bella<br />

Rosa by Belissimo M/Hohenstein (breeder:<br />

Heino Bruns, Gödenstorf) in Arnheim/<strong>The</strong><br />

Netherlands. <strong>The</strong> pair won Inter I.<br />

Blind Date<br />

Victoria Max-<strong>The</strong>urer and Blind Date by Breitling<br />

W/Donnerhall (breeder: Margarethe Klare,<br />

Maasen) go from victory to victory. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

won the Grand Prix and the Freestyle at the<br />

Chateau Achleiten in Austria.<br />

Broadway<br />

<strong>The</strong> CDI in Lipica/Slovenia was a 3*-competition.<br />

In the Grand Prix of the Freestyle-Tour<br />

the judges awarded Broadway by Beluga/<br />

Wolkentanz (breeder: Heiko Janssen, Schortens)<br />

and rider Sylvia Zimmers performance<br />

the fifth-best score and the third highest<br />

score in the freestyle.<br />

Chamberlain (VA)<br />

Chamberlain by Compliment/Grundsee<br />

(breeder: Hans Mikulle, Immensen) and Dana<br />

Beck from Luxembourg impressed with their<br />

performance placing fourth in the freestyle<br />

competition for juniors at the CDIJ in Lipica.<br />

Condio B<br />

<strong>Hanoverian</strong> horses determined the outcome<br />

of the CDIJ in Compiegne/France. Three of the<br />

four top-placed horses carried the soughtafter<br />

foal brand. Claire-Louise Averkorn rode<br />

Condio B by Contendro/Willem’s As (breeder:<br />

Stephan Baumgart, Drochtersen) into first<br />

place in the individual test and in the freestyle.<br />

Earlier on the pair had won silver in the<br />

team test.<br />

D’Agostino<br />

A <strong>Hanoverian</strong> dual victory at the CDI in Wiesbaden/Germany!<br />

D’Agostino by De Niro/Shogun<br />

xx (breeder: Klaus Lahmann, Dassendorf)<br />

and Fabienne Lütkemeier placed second in<br />

the Grand Prix behind Don Johnson FRH.<br />

Danilo<br />

Shelly Francis from the USA rode Danilo by<br />

De Niro/Andiamo (breeder: Susanne and Jürgen<br />

Beck, Stuttgart) in Inter I and received<br />

the fifth best result in Arnheim.<br />

Der Clou<br />

<strong>The</strong> majority of horses that participated in<br />

the CDI in Madrid were of Iberian descent.<br />

Der Clou by De Niro/Matcho AA (breeder: Dr.<br />

Rainer Nitsch, Salzhausen) was one of the<br />

few representatives of a riding horse breed.<br />

<strong>The</strong> bay won the freestyle with rider Filipe<br />

Canelas after having placed third in the<br />

Grand Prix.<br />

Don Charly (VA)<br />

Minna Telde and Don Charly by Don Gregory/<br />

Inschallah AA (breeder: Ewald Grotelueschen,<br />

Wardenburg) won the Grand Prix Special<br />

and the Freestyle at the CDIO in Vadauban.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Grand Prix also determined the<br />

Nations Cup; the pair placed third there. <strong>The</strong><br />

Swedish team won silver in this competition<br />

behind the Dutch team.<br />

<strong>Hanoverian</strong> News<br />

Grosso Z by Goliath II/Furioso II (breeder:<br />

Leon Melchior, Lanaken/Belgium)has<br />

turned 30 years of age. <strong>The</strong> senior enjoys<br />

his retirement on the breeding farm<br />

Wiesenhof. <strong>The</strong> dual-talented dark bay<br />

who was a successful dressage competitor<br />

himself up to Prix St. Georges sired the<br />

privately owned stallions Goldfever I and II.<br />

Franziska Roth and her mount Dictus J by<br />

Drossan/Gletscher (breeder: Heinrich<br />

Jansen, Geeste) were awarded the<br />

U25-advancement prize in Marbach. <strong>The</strong><br />

23-year old rider and her <strong>Hanoverian</strong><br />

finished the CIC*** in ninth place overall.<br />

Don Diego (VA)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Spanish dressage rider Juan Matute discovered<br />

Don Diego by Don Frederico/Wolkenstein<br />

II (breeder: Claus Schuett, Hemmoor) on<br />

Verden’s elite auction in April 2007. He made<br />

the horse available to his son called Juan Matute<br />

Guimon for international competitions.<br />

<strong>The</strong> 16-year old placed third in the FEI-team<br />

test at the CDIJ in Compiegne. He improved<br />

and placed second behind Condio B in the<br />

following individual test and in the freestyle.<br />

<strong>The</strong> stallion Matchos As (breeder:<br />

Johannes Otto, Wildeshausen) has past<br />

away. He was the last actively breeding<br />

descendant of the Anglo-Arab sire Matcho<br />

AA. Mid May Matchos As died of sudden<br />

heart failure. Matchos As was one of<br />

Verden’s top-selling auction horses on the<br />

elite auction in the spring 1995 after a<br />

brief period of time as breeding stallion.<br />

He successfully competed up to Inter I.<br />
