DOROTHY S. WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Created<br />

by Drs. Brian Alexander and Daniel Sears to honor Dr.<br />

Wright and to provide financial assistance for French or modern<br />

foreign language majors.<br />

TIMOTHY E. YATES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP<br />

FUND: For juniors and seniors majoring in math, computer<br />

science, biological science, or physical science with a<br />

GPA of 3.4 in their major and a cumulative GPA of 3.2.<br />

YOUTH MINISTRY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<br />

FUND: Priority will be given to students or prospective students<br />

seeking a degree in youth ministry. Priority will also<br />

be given to students or prospective students from Central<br />

Kentucky, followed by students from other parts of Kentucky<br />

and Tennessee. If the applicant is a current student, he or<br />

she should have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average to<br />

qualify for a scholarship.<br />

PRESIDENT’S ENDOWED<br />

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS<br />

The President’s Endowed Scholarship, which<br />

requires a gift of $25,000, is a naming opportunity that<br />

encourages the donor to direct funds to a specific<br />

college or major and then matches donor with recipient.<br />

The $1,250 need-based annual scholarship will<br />

be awarded through the Office of Financial Aid<br />

KRISTIN ALTMAN PRESIDENT’S ENDOWED<br />

SCHOLARSHIP FUND: This endowed scholarship will<br />

provide funds for students in the College of Business<br />

Administration majoring in professional sales.<br />

CHARLES T. CLAY JR. PRESIDENT’S ENDOWED<br />

SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established to assist students in<br />

need.<br />

BILLY E. AND CLARA GILLETT PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: This scholarship<br />

was set up in grateful recognition of Billy E. and Clara<br />

Gillett by an anonymous donor to provide funds for any fulltime<br />

student in good standing.<br />

W.O. GLOFF AND MARGARET GLOFF PRESI-<br />

DENT’S ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: This<br />

scholarship was set up by the estate of the Gloffs and will<br />

provide funds for students in the College of Bible and<br />

Religion who have expressed interest in and/or are studying<br />

to become ministers of the gospel.<br />

AL AND NELL HARTSFIELD PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established by<br />

Paul and Jennifer Pruett in honor of Paul’s grandparents.<br />

HOMER R. AND BLANCHE R. HORSMAN PRESI-<br />

DENT’S ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND:<br />

Established by Homer and Blanche Horsman because of their<br />

love and appreciation for <strong>Harding</strong>. They and their children<br />

are all graduates and desire to help other students<br />

have the <strong>Harding</strong> experience.<br />

NATHAN AND LINDY INGRAM PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established to<br />

provide scholarships for any full-time student in good standing<br />

pursuing a degree from <strong>Harding</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

JEFF AND SARA KERNODLE PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established for<br />

students who are from a home school program or students<br />

who are in foster care.<br />

CARL AND FRANKIE MITCHELL PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: In grateful recognition<br />

of Carl and Frankie Mitchell, this scholarship fund<br />

was established by Dan and Leigh Gillett.<br />

HANK AND SUE TANKERSLEY PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established by<br />

Edwin R. DeYoung and Paula DeYoung to honor her parents.<br />

ELIZABETH AND MARK WILLIAMS PRESIDENT’S<br />

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Established by<br />

Elizabeth and Mark Williams in honor of Gloria and Ralph<br />

Williams to provide scholarships for any full-time student<br />

in good standing pursuing a degree in the College of<br />

Sciences, Engineering and Physics Department, and meeting<br />

criteria of President’s Scholarship based on need.<br />

LOAN FUNDS<br />

Loan Funds are established for the specific purpose<br />

of providing financial aid to qualified students.<br />

Recipients are determined by administrative personnel.<br />

Loans are awarded to junior or senior undergraduate<br />

students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and who<br />

show need. These loans carry an interest rate of 8<br />

percent and repayment terms of six years.<br />

SAMUEL ARRINGTON LOAN FUND: Established by<br />

Gervis J. Arrington of Stephens in memory of his grandfather.<br />

DR. GEORGE S. BENSON STUDENT LOAN FUND:<br />

Established by the faculty in honor of Dr. Benson’s election<br />

as Arkansan of 1953.<br />

MALCOLM AND SYLVIA DEAL BOWEN ENDOWED<br />

STUDENT LOAN FUND: Established by the children of<br />

Malcolm and Sylvia Deal Bowen to honor them and to provide<br />

emergency loan funding to qualified applicants.<br />

Recipients will be asked to repay the loan amount within one<br />

year of disbursement.<br />

CHARLES BRADLEY MEMORIAL LOAN FUND: Established<br />

in memory of C.L. Bradley of Searcy.<br />

PHYLLIS COOKE MEMORIAL LOAN FUND: Established<br />

by James R. Cooke in memory of his wife.<br />
