SCRUTINY FORUM - PROGRESS REPORT<br />
1. PURPOSE OF THE REPORT<br />
1.1 To inform the Scrutiny Co-ordinating Committee of the progress made to date<br />
by the Regeneration and Planning Services Scrutiny Forum, since the last<br />
progress report to this Committee.<br />
2. PROGRESS OF THE FORUM<br />
2.1 Since the start of the new 2010/11 Municipal year, the Regeneration and<br />
Planning Services Scrutiny Forum has undertaken the following work:-<br />
2.2 Work Programme 2010-11:<br />
At the meeting of the Regeneration and Planning Services Scrutiny Forum on<br />
8 July 2010, following detailed discussions, Members agreed to conduct an indepth<br />
investigation into ‘Working Neighbourhoods Fund’ in relation to jobs and<br />
the economy themed programmes. It was agreed that a second shorter<br />
investigation into ‘Domestic Violence’ specifically focusing on male victims<br />
was to follow.<br />
2.3 The Forum also requested that the results of the ‘Economic Impact<br />
Evaluation’ of the Tall Ships event be presented to the Forum prior to being<br />
received by Cabinet. This assessment was due to be completed towards the<br />
end October. The Forums work programme was approved by Scrutiny Coordinating<br />
Committee at its meeting on 23 July 2010.<br />
2.4 <strong>Hartlepool</strong>’s Business Incubation System:<br />
At a meeting of the Regeneration and Planning Services Scrutiny Forum on 8<br />
July 2010 the response of the Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Economic<br />
Development to the recommendations from the Forums investigation into<br />
‘<strong>Hartlepool</strong>’s Business Incubation System’ was considered. Members of the<br />
forum were informed that following consideration of the final report by Cabinet<br />
on 7 June 2010 the report was accepted in its entirety, with Cabinet<br />
