of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
(B-BBEE) Act.
Hatch Africa has been accredited Level Four
B-BBEE contributor as per the requirements
of the B-BBEE Act of 2003, the codes of good
practice and the subsequent published government
gazette. We are committed to B-BBEE
and have full continuous improvement plans
to ensure that we strive to become a superior
B-BBEE contributor.
We have a range of socio-economic development
investments and are proud to be associated
with these causes that enable economic
development of individuals and the country.
The investments range from general corporate
social investments to true socio-economic development
that grow education and empower
the individuals for the future in the areas of

The Hatch Global Procurement Intelligence System
(GPI) contains a database to support decision-making
processes within Hatch’s procurement
team. Suppliers for projects are required
to provide information regarding their corporate
social responsibility initiatives, safety, health and
labor practices. This enables Hatch’s procurement
professionals to make sourcing recommendations
to clients about suppliers, therefore
supporting suppliers with strong sustainable
development credentials and acceptable labor
and community practices. Work to fully develop
our sustainable procurement systems is ongoing
Project LifeCycle Process
Hatch has successfully delivered predictable
results on client projects for more than 55 years.
There are four major project phases — conceptualization,
prefeasibility, feasibility and execution—that
are implemented through the Project
LifeCycle Process. This process has proven to
minimize the risk of anomalies.
In each phase of project execution, Hatch plans
carefully for four quality outcomes and zero
harm to employees and contractors. The four
outcomes are adherence to schedule, careful
budget control, quick ramp-up to full production
and an excellent safety record.
Hatch is in the process of a Project LifeCycle
Process Advancement (PLPA) program designed
to reinforce our engineering, procurement and
construction management (EPCM) projectdelivery
capabilities and performance globally. It
intends to enhance our integrated EPCM projectdelivery
framework of standard tools, processes,
procedures and best practices for environmental,
sustainability and community issues on projects.
In parallel to this PLPA effort, we have developed
the Environmental Services Project Management
Framework. This framework addresses environmental,
sustainability and community issues
