About 30% (29.71%) of the population presently living in those area are women of reproductive age
(15- 49 years). Only about 12% of the population are 50 years or above.

During the study, all women interviewed irrespective of their marital status; were asked about their
current contraceptive practice. Out of the total 635 women interviewed 264 women were using
(41.57%) some modern method of contraceptive. Kanglung and Norbuling gewogs had a CPR of
48%; it was lowest at Kabisa gewog at 28%. The highest No. of acceptors are in the age group 35-
39 years(62%) and gradually declines with advancing age; only 43% of women of age group 45-49
years are using some form of contraceptive. The Contraceptive practice increases with increasing
age from 15 years to 35 years. It was found to be lowest (8.43%) in the age group 15-19 years.
