It is, and has always been, the policy of H. J. Heinz Company to maintain the highest level of
professional and ethical standards in conducting its business affairs. The Company places the
highest importance on our reputation for honesty, integrity and high ethical standards. It is a
reputation that originated with our founder, Henry John Heinz, who used clear bottles for his
products, unlike his competitors, so that customers could see that Heinz’s products stood for
quality and were not made with cheap fillers.
This Global Code of Conduct (“Code”) reaffirms our long-standing commitment to high standards
of ethical conduct. It describes the legal and ethical responsibilities that each of us, all around the
Heinz world, is expected to fulfill.
As used in this Code, the terms “Company” and
“Heinz” include H. J. Heinz Company, its
subsidiaries, divisions, business units, and majority-owned joint
ventures. The term “employees” includes all Company Directors, officers,
and employees, unless otherwise noted. These policies apply to members
of the Board of Directors of H. J. Heinz Company insofar as they relate to
their role as a Director.
