2.3 Configuration of a NT 100 or NB 100 as a Gateway<br />

This section is valid <strong>for</strong> <strong>netTAP</strong> NT 100 <strong>and</strong> <strong>netBRICK</strong> NB 100 devices as a<br />

gateway. These devices are called gateway devices in the following<br />

description.<br />

The configuration of a <strong>netTAP</strong> NT 100 device is described as example.<br />

Differences <strong>and</strong> extras to other devices are pointed out respectively are<br />

described in own sections.<br />

The configuration of the NT 100 devices is explained exemplarily with the<br />

protocol conversion PROFINET IO Device to PROFIBUS-DP Master.<br />

The device NT 100-RE-DP with one master license is necessary <strong>for</strong> the<br />

protocol conversion from PROFINET IO Device to PROFIBUS-DP Master.<br />

The following steps have to be done to configure the device:<br />

2.3.1 Start SYCON.net <strong>and</strong> User Login<br />

1. Start SYCON.net<br />

‣ Select Start > Programs > SYCON.net System Configurator ><br />

SYCON.net<br />

SYCON.net is started<br />

2. User Login<br />

‣ In the window SYCON.net User Login click OK to login or enter your<br />

password <strong>and</strong> then click OK to login<br />

SYCON.net frame application appears<br />
