we concluded that almost 65 percent of the farmers found the drought-related advisory services useful, and were
able to switch from normal cropping pattern to castor, pearl millet which withstood the drought. More than 60
per cent of the cultivation costs for these farmers were saved because of the new advisory services. In one of the
village more than 50% of the farmers shifted from paddy to drought resistant crops like castor and peal millet

All activities were designed to operate in a partnership mode:
--a comprehensive architecture of information services in the stakeholder continuum from farmer to research
institutions has been developed
--three new online systems, for learning support, for fertilizer recommendations and for tagging research
documents have been built and shared with partners
--practice of crop knowledge models is now mainstreamed to include more crops and institutions
--comprehensive test results for deploying mobile/voice telephony in agricultural extension have been made
available.
--AGROVOC has been comprehensively revised and placed on an online platform hosted by FAO.
