802.1 Functional Organization<br />
(2) Division of Engineering Services (DES). The DES is responsible for:<br />
(a) The hydraulic design of bridges, bridge deck drains, <strong>and</strong> special<br />
culverts.<br />
(b) The structural adequacy of all drainage facilities.<br />
(c) The adequacy of pumping plant characteristics <strong>and</strong> temporary<br />
storage. Refer to Topic 839 for further discussion on pumping stations.<br />
(d) Compliance with Federal-Aid Policy Guide, Transmittal 1, G 6012.1<br />
<strong>and</strong> submittal of preliminary hydraulic data as outlined under Topic 805.<br />
(e) <strong>Geotechnical</strong> (soil mechanics <strong>and</strong> foundation engineering)<br />
considerations.
