2002<br />
Andre Gorgenyi and his wife,<br />
Melissa, welcomed their second<br />
child, Jocelyn Karine<br />
Gorgenyi, on Nov. 18, 2010.<br />
The 7- pound, 2- ounce girl’s<br />
older brother, Lewis, turned 2<br />
on March 31. Andre is still<br />
with The Salvation Army but<br />
moved to the Planned Giving<br />
Department last summer.<br />
2003<br />
Rosalind Gendreau and her<br />
husband celebrated the birth<br />
<strong>of</strong> their daughter, Dillon May,<br />
last July 9.<br />
2004<br />
Rosie Biancamano and her<br />
husband had, their first child<br />
Michael, in May. Many other<br />
former UML alums have been<br />
giving them some great advice<br />
about what to expect<br />
and how to prepare and they<br />
are very appreciative for<br />
the support.<br />
Martha Marsden has<br />
launched Marsden Creative,<br />
<strong>of</strong>fering photography, videography,<br />
graphic design and<br />
websites. Though Marsden<br />
Creative's primary service is<br />
photography, it also helps<br />
turn photos into books, websites<br />
and other marketing material.<br />
The company also <strong>of</strong>fers<br />
archival services such as<br />
scanning photos and transferring<br />
VHS to DVD. Although<br />
based in Boston, the<br />
company also operates in Los<br />
Angeles and Phoenix and<br />
has taken on international<br />
projects, as well.<br />
2005<br />
Stephen J. Kotsios has been<br />
named commercial portfolio<br />
loan <strong>of</strong>ficer at TD Bank in<br />
Leominster where he is responsible<br />
for performing<br />
workout for customer loans<br />
and asset recovery. Steve has<br />
seven years <strong>of</strong> banking experience<br />
and previously served as<br />
portfolio collections manager<br />
at Zwicker and Associates,<br />
P.C., in Andover.<br />
Pete and Jamie Tormey had<br />
their first child, James Peter<br />
Tormey, last Oct. 10.<br />
2006<br />
Craig MacKenzie is senior<br />
vice president <strong>of</strong> financial systems<br />
for the <strong>Lowell</strong> Five Cent<br />
Savings Bank. Originally<br />
from Chelmsford, he now<br />
lives in <strong>Lowell</strong>. Craig earned<br />
a bachelor's degree in mathematics<br />
and a bachelor's<br />
degree in economics from<br />
Syracuse <strong>University</strong>, and an<br />
M.B.A. from UMass <strong>Lowell</strong>.<br />
Heather Makrez, a lifelong<br />
<strong>Lowell</strong> resident, is associate<br />
director <strong>of</strong> alumni relations at<br />
u CLOSE-UP CLASS OF 1998<br />
1998<br />
Erin McGuirk Ryan, who received her master’s <strong>of</strong> education in curriculum and<br />
instruction, was selected as one <strong>of</strong> 28 elementary and middle school teachers<br />
from across the country to take part in this summer’s Gilder Lehrman Institute<br />
for American History fellowship on “From the Revolution to the Civil War” at<br />
Tulane <strong>University</strong> in New Orleans. Ryan — who teaches fifth grade gifted and<br />
high-achieving students at McNabb Elementary School in Pompano Beach,<br />
Fla. — has received three such summer fellowships. The first two took place at<br />
James Madison <strong>University</strong> and Valley Forge, respectively. “Growing up in <strong>Massachusetts</strong>,<br />
I took history for granted,” she says. “Now that I’ve moved to south<br />
Florida, where the history is fairly limited, I have a much deeper appreciation<br />
for the struggles <strong>of</strong> the first settlers as they left their homes in search <strong>of</strong><br />
something better for their families, and dedication <strong>of</strong> the Framers and Founders<br />
to transform this country into the great nation that it is today.”<br />
UMass <strong>Lowell</strong>. She oversees<br />
alumni events in the community<br />
and through social<br />
networks. Heather holds a<br />
bachelor's degree in history<br />
and a master's degree in<br />
regional economic and social<br />
development. She sits on<br />
the Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals <strong>of</strong><br />
Greater <strong>Lowell</strong> board, as<br />
well as the Pollard Library<br />
Foundation.<br />
Kenneth Tucceri is an art<br />
consultant with Cutter &<br />
Cutter Fine Art <strong>of</strong> St. Augustine,<br />
Fla. An avid outdoorsman,<br />
he recently traversed<br />
the entire length <strong>of</strong> the Appalachian<br />
Trail – a grueling<br />
journey that, he says, allowed<br />
him to “clear my head and focus<br />
on life.” But while he<br />
enjoys Florida, he says he’s<br />
still passionate about <strong>Lowell</strong>,<br />
especially his beloved sports<br />
teams and his artistic heroes<br />
Jack Kerouac and James<br />
McNeill Whistler.<br />
Christopher Stygles is engaged<br />
to Jennifer McDonald.<br />
The two plan to marry in<br />
October.<br />

Danielle Bergeron owns Frills<br />
and Thrills Events and Social<br />
Media, a business that <strong>of</strong>fers<br />
full-service event planning<br />
and social media consulting.<br />
She also works for Impact<br />

and teaches<br />
at Middlesex<br />
Community<br />
College.<br />
Danielle holds<br />
a master’s<br />
degree in community<br />
social<br />
psychology from UMass <strong>Lowell</strong><br />
and a bachelor’s degree in<br />
psychology from Westfield<br />
