Axial Swage Mechanically Attached Fittings Under pressure and fatigue loading, LOKRING fittings perform as well as butt welds and are superior to socket weld or seal welded pipe thread. Installation requires much less skill: higher quality joints are much more repeatable and reliable than a welded connection. An excellent joint can be made in locations where it is nearly impossible to make a good weld. Welds made in difficult locations are typically inferior to those made under ideal conditions. It is intrinsically safe because no heat is required and electrical shock hazard is eliminated.
