Anti-Trust Statement<br />
This meeting shall be conducted in strict compliance with all Federal and State Anti-Trust rules<br />
and regulations. Members of this Chapter and all others present are not here to violate any<br />
Anti-Trust laws.<br />
Invocation – Judith Garcia led us in the Invocation.<br />
• Secretary’s Minutes A motion was made to accept the Secretary’s minutes of the May meeting as<br />
published in the newsletter by Joseph Boyle, Seconded Bill Newkirk and passed unanimously<br />
• Treasurer’s Report - A motion was made to accept the Treasurer’s report as published in the<br />
newsletter by Boyd Allen, Seconded Bill Newkirk and passed unanimously<br />
Committees<br />
• Advertising Committee – David mentioned the ad in this month’s newsletter<br />
• Community Involvement/Civic Activities and Events – Will get a list of needed toys/gifts from<br />
the Spring representative in time for the November meeting and maybe as early as the<br />
October meeting. We have monies donated so far that equal 5 turkeys, and we need only 48<br />
more to reach our goal of 53 turkeys this year. The date for the 2010 Paint Your Heart Out,<br />
Clearwater! event is Saturday, March 20th with a rain date of Sunday, March 21st.<br />
• Education – Judith – Steve Levine offered his services for teaching evening classes – he<br />
believes his teaching certificate is still in effect. Any course suggestions? Please fill out this list<br />
with order of preference, with 5 being the most important and 1 being totally against it. CST<br />
testing will be on Saturday August 22 nd , at the Annual conference in Orlando. Any interested<br />
persons must have their paperwork and fees into NSPS by August 1 st . The website address<br />
link for the application will be in the newsletter.<br />
• Historian – Cathy – no report<br />
• Membership – David – no report<br />
• Nominations – I have award nomination forms (due June 26 th ) and extra ballots.<br />
• Recruitment – Boyd – no report<br />

Director’s Report was given by David Puigdomenech<br />
Old Business<br />
• Amount of donation to scholarship fund – motion was made to table the donation to the<br />
Scholarship Fund until next year by Dan Ferrans, Seconded Charlie Norwood and passed<br />
unanimously<br />
• Joe Boyle will write to Amr. H. Abd-Elrahman about “Survey Open House” with high school<br />
seniors. Mr. Amr attended the meeting and he discussed educational opportunities at the Plant<br />
City Campus.<br />
• Amount of donation to Pac Fund – Motion by David Puigdomenech To make $500 donation for<br />
the PAC fund, Seconded Boyd Allen and passed unanimously<br />
• Transfer Bill 1744 – a copy of the email that was sent around is available for anyone to review.<br />
No one wanted to assign a group to do our own chapter review.<br />
• Hometown Democracy – Judith passed out from their website a list of FAQs. She said these<br />
are the answers they are giving and David will give us a thorough and up to date report at the<br />
end of tonight’s meeting. There is also a copy of the constitutional amendment form that they<br />
are using. Copies of news articles of FHD are printed for you to view also.<br />
• PTA Conference is Friday, July 17 th in Palm Harbor. Boyd and I have volunteered to attend a<br />
booth. A couple of people expressed an interest in helping, but needed more information. It<br />
was suggested that Cathy could send out an email with information about Who What and<br />
Where.<br />
• Guest speaker next month will be David Gibson. Joe Boyle will contact him to make<br />
arrangements, and to see if he needs accommodations.<br />
New Business<br />
• Next month’s meeting will be at Crazy Buffet on Dale Mabry.<br />
• Any suggestions for meeting locations? Email Judith Garcia<br />
• President’s new name is Catherine Bosco. Her email will be cbosco@georgefyoung.com<br />
• Normally with Saturday only registration at the conference you cannot purchase a ticket for the<br />
Welcome BBQ, but this year they will make an exception. The number of registrants for the<br />
conference are at normal levels considering how early it is.<br />
• Lynn Gibson of Gibson Travel made a donation to the turkey fund of $30.<br />
• Motion to request <strong>FSMS</strong> to email membership a flyer advertising the TBC Scholarship Fund<br />
Raising Cruise by Boyd Allen, Seconded Jim Godfrey and passed unanimously<br />
• Motion to donate $500 to purchase turkeys for Metropolitan Ministries at Thanksgiving. Motion<br />
Dan Ferrans, Seconded Charlie Norwood and passed unanimously.<br />
• David Puigdomenech gave an informative presentation on Hometown Democracy and a<br />
question and answer period followed. David invited anyone to email him with questions also.<br />
Adjourn Meeting – Motion made to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm by David Puigdomenech and<br />
Seconded by John Waby and passed unanimously<br />
Tom Kaney Raffle winner was Charlie Dye. Mr. Dye won $25 which he donated to the turkey fund.<br />
Marble Raffle collected $12.00 with no winner this month.<br />
