Meeting Minutes
October 27, 2009
Meeting Held at Shindig’s Irish Restaurant in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chapter President Eric Matthews.
Eric Matthews read the anti trust disclaimer.
There were 13 members in attendance.

Director’s Report: Don Lanthorne, in attendance, reported;
Spoke about the increasing incidents of survey equipment theft .
Fielded a question from the membership regarding increased fees.
Informed the Membership of the next board meeting.
Old Business
The only item was a request for clarification regarding Indian River Chapter’s donation to the PAC
fund posed by Mike O’Brien. The inquiry was addressed to the satisfaction of the membership.
New Business:
Mike O’Brien and Ted Phillips put forward a request to continue Indian River Chapter’s traditional
involvement in the White Doves program and sought funds for same.
Steven Hyde suggested that the Chapter also donate funds toward purchasing gift cards for any
number of surveyors who have been adversely affected in this economy.
After some discussion motions were put forward and seconded to contribute $500 toward the White
Doves organization which Ted Phillips and Mike O’Brien would handle and $1000 would be used to
buy $100 gift cards to be distributed to those that the Chapter officer felt were most in need this
holiday season.
Steven Hyde suggested the Chapter explore the possibility of hosting a short duration CEU class to
benefit the membership.
Discussions were put forward regarding speakers for future meetings, Eric Matthews stated the
Chapter may have an opportunity to have the District State Representative speak early 2010.
Requests for input regarding future fund raisers, e.g.(golf tournament, trap shooting, etc.) were
solicited for future consideration.
Adjournment: A motion for adjournment was made at 7:40 PM, seconded, and passed.
